2008 Technology Showcase

Internet Securities® held its Spring 2008 Technology Showcase in March in Oakland, CA. Some of America’s finest startup companies associated with Alternative Energy presented their business plans to an audience of accredited angel investors, venture capitalists, strategic corporate investors, and industry analysts. The evening also included an in-depth panel discussion of mergers and acquisition activities with the Alternative Energy industry sector.

Guest Speaker: Jan Pepper has started 4 companies in the renewable energy industry during her 25 years in this field. In 2007, she started her latest venture, SunFund Corporation, which provides an easy financing mechanism for homeowners to “go solar”.

Jan received a B.S. in civil engineering from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She currently teaches a class on “The Future of Energy” through the Stanford Continuing Studies Program.

Speaker: Prakash Ramachandran - Financial Officer

Prakash is the Chief Financial Officer of Nordic Windpower, a company that provides two bladed utility scale turbines to the wind energy industry. Nordic is funded by Goldman Sachs and is headquartered in Berkeley, CA with offices in UK, Sweden and manufacturing operations in Idaho.

Speaker: Eric A. McAfee - Chairman and CEO

Eric McAfee is an entrepreneur and venture capitalist with a lifelong commitment to agriculture and renewable energy. Eric is a founding shareholder of Pacific Ethanol (Nasdaq: PEIX), an ethanol supplier in the Western United States. Pacific Ethanol received an $84 million investment from Microsoft Chairman, Bill Gates, through his investment firm.
