8th Annual Oakland Youth Business Plan Competition

Michael Beardsley, CEO, was a First Round Judge for BUILD’s 8th Annual Oakland Youth Business Plan Competition at U.C. Berkeley’s Haas Business School. Students from several Oakland high schools presented their companies to a panel of judges who selected the winner to proceed to the Final Round. Michael Beardsley has been a ‘VC Mentor’ to BUILD student teams in Oakland, CA for three years and judge for the BUILD company showcase for two years, as well as First Round judge for BUILD’s Final Business Plan Competition held at U.C. Berkeley. BUILD is an innovative, highly successful college preparation program whose mission is to use entrepreneurship to excite and propel disengaged, low-income students through high school to college success.
